Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat. It was Dean's on Tuesday, today we owned it. Dayaam!!
....oh wait ...it owned us!!!
We found lots of untouched power over on Moose Face today. Seems that few people venture over here to this sunny southern facing slope. It was good, very good.
The rest of the hill was also nice.

New Year's Igloo
Hiked up to the igloo on Friday evening. Cold. Very cold. The frigid surroundings were a sight to behold. Scattered clouds lay low on some of the distant peaks. Once darkness fell I began to feel isolated, cut off from the rest of humanity by the sheer presence of this deep cold. No getting in or out till morning.
Spent the rest of the night reading a few chapters - a book Teneile gave me for Christmas. Some good music helped set the mood and lasted several hours till the ipod battery gave out. I needed to get some sleep anyway. 28 to 30 degrees inside...15 below outside, I snuggled into my sleeping bags and dreamed about frozen places .
Woke to snow and wind on New Years Day. Packed up and headed down the windblown track I had made the evening before. Once to the car I headed home...only to become sidetracked by the view of the ski hill. The weather looked like it might break, so I soon found myself on the chairlift. What a great day it was!
You can see Orion rising.....
